It has been a while since we last attended a chamber banquet. With all the re-organization and financial woes we didn't think we would attend any future banquets. We accepted an invite to be the official photographers of the evening. Wow! What a turnout! It was the largest banquet in the Chamber's recent history. New financial management, tough restructuring, staff-turned-volunteers-turned-staff, new volunteering ambassadors and the continual support of local businesses, this "new" chamber is going to go from strength to strength!
It was really encouraging to see all the local companies support the chamber and there is no doubt in my mind that the chamber is here to stay and help local business build stronger businesses and a stronger Marshall!
It was also great to see the chamber recognize Richard & Christina Anderson as the "Citizen(s) of the Year". To hear all that they have done for the City of Marshall as well as Harrison County is impressive.
The chamber recognized Stephanie Macomber as their "Ambassador of the Year". Despite her personal trials she has always been willing to serve.
The guest speaker of the evening was the ever confident and colorful George Smith. He really challenged the status quo of the City of Marshall. What kind of city do you want Marshall to be in 20 years? Good question!
